STRATEGIC PLAN FOR HEALTH LABORATORY SYSTEM IN ETHIOPIA

Abstract

This Strategic Plan is developed to serve as a roadmap for developing Ethiopia’s health laboratory services over the next five years. The first edition of the Strategic Plan was created in 2005 following the entrustment of a formal mandate to the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI) by the Ministry of Health to lead and build the capacity of the National Health Laboratory System. This first Strategic Plan was developed with a special focus on building the capacity of the laboratory system to effectively support the prevention, diagnosis, care & treatment of HIV/AIDS.
